Meadowdale Primary School

27/09/2019

This week we have had fun investigating materials and carrying out an investigation to find out which material would be the best to make an emergency tea bag! We worked in small groups and made good predictions and observations.

In English, we have continued to write sentences using commas in a list.

In maths, we have moved onto addition and have been adding a single digit to a 2 digit number. We have also thought about the meaning of the = sign.

Our phonics work has included spelling polysyllabic words.

Next week we will be finding out about a famous scientist and will be learning about how to write questions.
In maths we will be continuing with addition and subtraction.

Home Activities
We have sent home a maths activity sheet today which reinforces lots of the things that we have been learning so far this term.
We have also given your child a lost of words that they still need to practise to spell following our spelling test last week.

Other Information
Lots of children still do not have a complete PE kit at school so we are sending these home today so they can be checked!
Please also continue to sign your child's reading record when they have read at home so we can keep a track on their reading. We have noticed that some children are not reading at home and cannot stress enough how important it is for them to read, or be read to, every day.
