We are very much looking forward to meeting with you next week at Parents' Evening. This will be an opportunity for us to discuss your child’s report and, especially, focus on what support we can give them with their next learning steps. We will also be handing out some phonics packs that explain how you can support your child with their phonics in the run up to the phonics screening test in June.

In maths, we will be learning about numbers to 50 next week. Any practise that you can do at home with counting and writing these numbers would be brilliant and would benefit them.

We have had a wonderful time this week for STEM week! We started the week learning about how to construct a building made from junk and the children were all very excited to make their landmark in London. Throughout the rest of the week we have done other activities such as programming your teacher to make a jam sandwich, a melting ice experiment, using robots to paint a picture and learning how to work as a team to construct towers out of marshmallows and spaghetti.

We have been super proud of all of the children this week as we have been writing animal stories. The children have been learning the story pattern of a beginning that describes the setting and introduces the characters, a middle where the characters encounter a problem and an end where the problem gets solved. All children have made good progress with writing a short story.
