24/5/19

We have had a brilliant last week of term. We have been continuing our learning about Market Harborough and have been practising the races for sports day. Sports day will be the first Wednesday back in the afternoon. Each child will be reminded of their house group indicating the colour t-shirt which they must bring in for this day. If your child is unsure please speak to your child’s class teacher and we will send a slip home with the information.

After half term, we will be continuing our Market Harbourgh topic and visiting the market. After this, we will begin our topic on plants. In maths, we will be learning about time. Any work children can do over the holiday spotting the hours and minutes would be very helpful. In Year 1, we develop our knowledge of o’clock and half past. In English, we will be looking at the story Amazing Grace.

Over the half term holiday, each child will be sent home with three books and a selection of children will be sent home with some additional phonics. Just a little reminder that in the week beginning 10th June the children will be completing the Year 1 phonics screening so please keep up with all the fantastic work you have been doing with the real and alien words.
