We have had a very busy couple of weeks! Our special quizzes (otherwise known as SATS!!) are all completed and will form just part of our teacher assessments for the end of the key stage. The children who have been absent this week will complete them at some point during next week.
We have finished our work on George’s Marvellous Medicine and compared Grandma’s character to that of Mrs Twit. The children have designed a new medicine to improve Mrs Twit and have written some amusing descriptions about the effect that the medicine has.
We have also started our Castles topic this week and have looked at the physical features of land to decide where would be the best place to build and why. The children have also been learning about what a ‘motte and bailey’ castle is and have drawn detailed pictures.
In maths we have been looking at how to solve a two step problem and exploring the strategies needed.
Next week we will be continuing with our Castles topic and will be finding out about how a castle could defend and protect itself.
Please could you make sure that your child brings a drinks bottle to school each day? We have noticed that some children haven’t had one this week.
It will be sports day on the Wednesday after half term and next week we will be deciding the races that children will take part in. We would like each child to wear a t-shirt for the colour of their house if possible: red for Red Admiral, green for Brimstone, yellow for Swallowtail and blue for Tortoiseshell.
