It has been a very busy week this week!

In English we have read and discussed the story Buster’s Christmas.  The children have sequenced the events in the story.  Next week we will be writing our own stories from the point of view of Buster the dog.  We have also started our science topic ‘Uses of everyday materials’ and will hopefully be carrying out a science experiment next week where the children will be choosing the best material to make a trampoline for Buster.

In maths, we have continued with our work on repeated addition and multiplication.  The children have been learning to ‘skip count’ and have also been introduced to arrays.

All children have had a spelling dictation test today with the words that we emailed a couple of weeks ago.  We will let you know how they got on once they have been marked.

The children have been working hard to bring together our Christmas Nativity and they are looking forward to performing it to you next week!  At the moment, we estimate that the performances will last about 40 minutes.  The evening performance starts at 6pm and we need the children to be back at school between 5.30 and 5.45pm please.  They will need to be dropped off at the door to the main building and will get ready in the Year 4 classrooms.

We previously asked for children to wear a brightly coloured top or Christmas jumper.  Please could these be brought to school on Monday in a named bag.

We again have a lot of unnamed jumpers, gloves and hats.  We will keep these on the lunch trolley until the end of next week and then put them in the lost property box in the main playground.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to another busy week next week!
