We have had another busy week in Year 2 in our run up to half term!

In English we have thought about how we can make sentences better by using words such as if, so, when and because.  We have then used these words to extend our sentences when writing a letter to King Charles with our ideas about how he could rebuild London after the fire.

In maths we have continued to work with fractions and have been finding a third and two thirds of an amount.

Phonics this week has included looking at words with a ‘ful’ suffix.

After half term we have our final week of work on The Great Fire where we will be learning about Samuel Pepys. We are looking forward to him visiting us on 1st March.

We have today sent home a maths home activity with revision of what we have done this half term as well as our future learning such as money.  We have also given the children a picture stimulus for them to write about in order to practise what we have learned in writing.
