Happy New Year!

We have had a busy start to the new term and have been finishing off our topic on Materials.  The children have investigated different materials to decide which would be best to make an emergency tea bag for the teachers!  They made predictions, made the teabags, tested the materials and shared their observations.

In maths, we have continued working with multiplication and the children are becoming more confident in skip counting, drawing and using arrays as well as developing their speed in answering a question. A useful website for practising immediate recall of multiplication is https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Next week we will be starting our new topic “London’s Burning – Did London really burn down?”

We will also be making the link between multiplication and division in maths.

We still have a few children who have not yet returned their ICT/internet agreement form.  Please could you check your child’s book bag if you know that you haven’t seen it!  The original letter was sent out before Christmas and we have given another out to some children this week as a reminder.

Reading  – your child is welcome to bring in their own book from home to read during our independent/guided reading times at school but please make sure that their name is written inside.
