We are so proud of the way Year 6 have taken this week’s tests in their stride! Good progress seems to have been made so far this year and the test results have given us a good indication of the teaching and learning required before the end of the year.
As most of our mornings have been taken up with tests, the children have been busy creating their Charles Darwin biographies; they look fabulous!
We will be starting a new poetry unit next week, looking at and analysing a total of no less than seven poignant and topical poems.
Fractions continues to be the focus of our maths lessons.
Continuing on the theme of Charles Darwin, the children will be creating some Galapagos-themed watercolour paintings.
Please ensure your child completes the following pages of their SAT Busters:
Arithmetic: pages 30-31
Number, ratio and algebra: pages 30-34
Geometry: pages 24-27
Grammar: page 8
Punctuation: pages 28-29
As always, please ensure that your child regularly reads for at least 10 minutes a day and continues to practice their times tables on Times Table Rockstars.
News and Updates
There are still a few slots available for next week’s parents’ evening so if you haven’t booked yours yet, please don’t forget to do so. We are looking forward to seeing you all and discussing your child’s progress thus far.
